Linking to a Panopto Video from within a Course

1. From inside a Document; click on Add Content
2. Click [+] and select Content Market
3. From the list of tools, select the Panopto Video Embed tile.
4. Select the video you want to embed, Choose an existing video, Record a video, or Upload an existing video. Use the search bar to locate an existing video.
5. Once finished selecting a video, set the Video Embed Options using the drop down below the video, then select Insert.
6. Enter a Display Name for the video. This name should provide a detailed title for the video, such as "Module 1 Lecture Title".
7. The recording will now appear embedded in Document area. We recommend adding a transcript for videos when possible.

After adding the video to the Course Content page, you can drag and drop the link it to a different location (e.g., folder learning module, assignment, discussion board, etc.).  

1. Click [+] and select Content Market
2. From the list of tools, select the Panopto Video Embed tile.
3. Select the video you want to add, Choose an existing video, Record a video, or Upload an existing video. Use the search bar to locate an existing video.
4. Once finished selecting a video, set the Video Embed Options using the drop down below the video, then select Insert.
5. To enter a Display Name for the video, select the ellipses (...) next to the video, select Edit. Click the Title text to change the Title, then select Save. This name should provide a detailed title for the video, such as "Module 1 Lecture Title".
6. The recording will now appear embedded in Course Content area. We recommend adding a transcript for videos when possible.
7. The recording now displays in the Course Content area.  Please drag and drop it to the proper location. 

 

Video Embed Options

Start At: Controls the time in the video where playback will start.

Interactivity

• All: Allows viewer to search within the video, rate the video, access the table of contents, make notes, and add discussion posts.
• Search & Rating only: Allows viewer to only search through video and rate it.
• None: Removes all interactive features.

Autoplay: Begins playing automatically when webpage loads.

Enable 'Watch in Panopto': Allows users to adjust video display area and opens the video in the full interactive player.

Show Title: Displays the title of the video at the top of the player.  Use consistent and meaningful naming conventions to help student connect the dots between course material.

Show Logo: Select this to show Drake University's embedded logo in the player.

"No Enrollment" Error: If you attempt to add a link to a Panopto recording before you add the Panopto Video Library to the course, you will encounter the following error message. To correct it, please consult the Creating a Panopto Video Library in Blackboard Ultra and then embed the video.
