Every Canon printer on campus has a designated super user in the department. This person is responsible for training users in their area, performing front-line troubleshooting, replacing consumable supplies and other duties. NOTE: The Canon equipment will be installed in phases from October 2026 through early January 2027.
How do I get help if there is an issue with my printer/MFD?
First check to see if the printer needs toner, has a paper jam, or other obvious maintenance needed. If it's still not working, contact Infomax Office Systems. Look for the Infomax label on the front of the device. The label includes the following contact details and the printer ID number.
- Phone: 515-244-6231 or Toll Free 888-750-4732
- Email: service@infomaxoffice.com
- Online: e-Info customer portal (more details coming after all devices are deployed)

How do I check the usage level of the Canon printer supplies?
The status can be checked at the printer. When the install project is done, a customer portal will be available as another way to check supply levels.
- From the printer Home screen, tap the Status Monitor icon in the bottom left corner.
- Tap the Consumables/Others option in the top right menu bar.
- The next screen will display paper sizes in each tray, the toner supply levels, plus other supply statuses.
How do I order supplies?
The Canon printers automatically monitor supply levels and will display alert messages on the display panel.
- Toner: Infomax will auto-ship toner cartridges when the remaining toner level is low. An alert message will appear on the display panel when the toner is low or has run out. ITS will maintain some extra supplies in the Dial Center for emergency replacements.
- Waste Container, Drum Cartridge, Staples: Infomax cannot monitor when these supplies need replacement. They will not auto-ship and super users need to monitor these supplies manually. An alert message will appear on the display panel when the waste container is almost full. Check the supply levels periodically to estimate when replacement orders should be submitted.
- Cost: Staple cartridge orders are expensed to the centralized printing budget. If the invoice gets routed to you, please send it to Alicia Mann in ITS. The cost for other consumable supplies is included in our Infomax service agreement.
- A customer portal will be available in the future to place orders online. Orders can also be placed by phone or email at supplies@infomaxoffice.com.
- All supply orders will ship to Drake's campus mailroom in Olmsted. Mailroom staff will deliver orders to the designated building and super user.
How do I change the toner or other consumable supplies?
For imageFORCE C5140/C5170, refer to the product manual linked in the first section above. Go to the Adjustment and Maintenance section. Look for instructions within the Replacing Consumables and Parts section.
For imageFORCE 1643, refer to the product manual linked in the first section above. Go to About the Machine section and select Main Unit Maintenance. Then look for instructions under Replacing the Toner Cartridge.
- For the large C5140/C5170 devices, the toner cartridge cover will open automatically when it's ready to be replaced. Do not manually force the small cover open if toner is not empty.
- As long as black toner is remaining, you can print in black and white even if cyan, magenta, or yellow toners run out.
How do I order copy paper?
Paper is ordered through Drake's Office Depot or Amazon business accounts. Standard copy paper options are expensed to the centralized printing budget (e.g., white letter, legal, and ledger sizes). Non-standard paper options like cardstock or color paper are expensed to your departmental budget.
- Refer to the Workday Implementation site for the new punchout supplier requisition process. Look for the Create Punchout Requisition job aid.
- The Amazon punchout site includes a paper shopping list. The Office Depot punchout site is missing the paper shopping list for now. We hope to get that fixed soon.
- Use these Workday worktags for standard paper orders only. This will route to ITS for approval.
- Spend category: Supplies
- Cost Center: 4910
- Fund: 1000
- Function: 206
