Installing Citrix Workspace on a Drake-Owned Windows Computer (How-to)

Citrix Workspace (formerly known as Citrix Receiver) is software that provides access to Drake's virtual applications and desktops. While on-campus, Drake's Software Center can be used to install Citrix Workspace on Drake-owned Windows computers. To install Citrix Workspace on a personal Windows computer, follow the article Installing Citrix Workspace on a Personally-Owned Windows Computer (How-to). Once you have Citrix Workspace installed, reference the instructions for Using Citrix Virtual Applications and Desktops (How-to).


Installing while off-campus


1. Find and Launch Make Me Admin

  1. Click on the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Search for Make Me Admin.
  3. Launch Make Me Admin.

2. Downloading Citrix Workspace

  1. Click the link: http://downloadplugins.citrix.com/Windows/CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe
  2. Find the downloaded file and right-click it.
  3. Click Run as Administrator.
  4. Click Yes to allow changes. 

3. Install Citrix Workspace

  1. Click Start.
  2. Select I accept the license agreement and click Next.
  3. Be sure to deselect Enable single sign-on and click Install.
  4. Wait for the installation to complete.





4. Configuring

  1. When the installation has completed, click Add Account.

 

5. Add Account

  1. Enter vdi.drake.edu and click Add. NOTEBe sure not to enter your Drake email address.

 

6. Logging in

  1. Enter your Drake ID and password and click Log On.

Installing while on-campus


1. Find and Launch Software Center

  1. Click on the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Search for Software Center.
  3. Launch Software Center.

2. Install Citrix Workspace

  1. Select Citrix Workspace in the list of available applications.
  2. Click Install Selected.

3. Find and Launch Citrix Workspace

  1. Click on the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Search for Citrix Workspace.
  3. Launch Citrix Workspace.

4. Log in to Citrix Workspace

  1. Log in with your User Name and Password.
  2. Click Log On.
