Setting Up Drake Email on iPhone (How-to)

In this article, you will find step by step instructions to set up your Drake email on iPhone for iOS 15, iOS 14, iOS 13, as well as older versions of iOS.


Setting Up Drake Email on iPhone (for iOS 14 and up)

  1. Launch Settings on iPhone.
  2. In the Search field, type Mail.
  3. Tap on Mail (white envelope on blue background icon) in the list of search results.
  4. Tap Accounts.
  5. Tap Add Account.
  6. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  7. In the Email field, enter your Drake email address.
  8. In the Description field, you can either accept the default description (Exchange) or change it to something else.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Tap Sign In to Sign in to your "drake.edu" Exchange account using Microsoft.
  11. If you are asked to choose between Work or school account and Personal account, tap Work or school account.
  12. Enter your Drake password and tap Sign in. 
  13. You'll then select the features your would like to use (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and/or Notes), and Save.

Then swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to your home screen. Launch Mail to access your Drake email.

Setting Up Drake Email on iPhone (for iOS 13)

1. iPhone Settings

  1. Open Settings on iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Passwords & Accounts.
  3. Select Add Account.

2. Microsoft Exchange

  1. From the Add Account screen, select Microsoft Exchange.
  2. In the Email field, type your Drake email address.
  3. In the Description field, type Drake (or a description of your choice).
  4. Tap Next.

3. Signing in to your Drake Account

  1. Tap Sign In.
  2. Select Work or school account.

NOTE: You will then sign in on the Drake login screen, unless you've authenticated recently. NOTE: You may be prompted for multi-factor authentication (MFA). For assistance, see the MFA guides in the IT service portal.

4. iOS and Sync settings

  1. Go back to your iOS settings and tap Continue to trust the certificate.
  2. Select the Exchange Server features you would like to sync with your phone (Email, calendar, etc.)
  3. Be sure to Save your settings.

You will be returned to the Settings screen for Passwords & Accounts.

Exit Settings and open the Mail app to view and send Drake email.

NOTE: Depending on how much email you have, it may take several minutes for your emails to download to your iPhone. Also, when you change your Drake password, you should update your password on all other devices you have connected to Drake's Exchange Server or to the eduroam Wi-Fi network (like your iPhone).
 


Setting Up Drake Email on iPhone (for older versions of iOS)

  1. Open the Mail app.


     
  2. Select Exchange.


     
  3. In the Email field, type your Drake email address.
  4. In the description type Drake.
  5. Select Next.


     
  6. Select Sign in.

  7. Select Work or School Account.


     
  8. Type your Drake email address.
  9. Type your Drake password.
  10. Select Sign in.


     
  11. Select Accept.



    You will then see this screen:


     
  12. Select Save.



    You will then be taken to your Inbox.

NOTE: You may need to wait a few minutes before your emails are downloaded into your Inbox. Also, when you change your Drake password you will also need to change your password right away on any devices that are connected with Drake email or wireless networks.
