Getting Started with Voicemail on Rolm Phones (How-to)

This article is a how-to guide for setting up voicemail on a Rolm phone.

Accessing Mailbox and Initial Login

  1. Dial the Access Number 3891 or press the PHML key on your phone.
    • If you're calling from your own extension, press # sign, or if calling from a different extension, enter your four digit phone extension followed by the # sign.
  2. Enter the default password, 111 followed by the # sign.
  3. Enter your new password followed by the # sign.
  4. When prompted, say your first, then your last name. Press the * key and then the # key when finished.
    • If no greeting is recorded, the system will play a greeting which includes your recorded name, extension, and a message that says you cannot be reached and that the caller may leave a message or be transferred to another extension.

Recording Personal Greetings (optional)

  1. Press 8 for Answering Options.
  2. Press 1 to Set Greetings.
  3. Press 2 to Change Regular Greeting.
    • Or Press 1 to Change Alternative Greeting.
      • The Alternate Greeting is the only message that plays if it is turned on if you have not recorded an After Hours Greeting.
  4. Press 2 to Change Greeting for when the Extension is Busy
    • The Busy Greeting will play when you are on your phone.
  • or Press 3 to Change Greeting for Internal Caller
    • The Internal Greeting will play when someone calls you from on-campus.
  • or Press 4 to Change Greeting for External Caller
    • The External Greeting will play when someone calls you from off-campus.
  • or Press 5 to Change Greeting for After Hours
    • The After Hours Greeting will play before 8 a.m., after 4:30 p.m., and all day Saturday and Sunday.
      • Press 1 to Re-Record
      • Press 4 to Keep Current
      • Press 6 to Select System Greeting
