Registering for Classes and Wait Lists (How-to)

Below are instructions for how to register for a course, add yourself on a course wait list, register from a waitlist, and information on registration error messages.


1. Accessing the Registration Self Service Landing Page

  1. Log into myDrake.
  2. Click Self Service in the Commonly Used Apps section.
  3. On the Registration card, click Registration Self Service

2. Registering for Classes

1. Using CRN

  1. Select Register for Classes.
  2. Select the Term.
  3. Select Enter CRNs.
  4. Enter the CRN for the course.
  5. Use +Add Another CRN to add more courses (optional).
  6. Click Add to Summary when you are finished adding CRNs.
  7. Review your proposed schedule at the bottom of the screen. If your schedule is not visible, click the Panels button at the bottom of the page.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Your classes will update to a green Registered status if they were successfully added to your schedule.

      Enter CRN'sReview and Submit Registrations

 

2. Using Find Classes

  1. Select Register for Classes.
  2. Select the Term.
  3. Enter your class search criteria into the appropriate fields and click Search.
  4. Review your options. Select the Add button to the right of the desired classes.
  5. Review your proposed schedule at the bottom of the page.
    1. If your schedule is not visible, click the Up Arrow.
  6. Click Submit
  7. Your classes will update to a green Registered status if they were successfully added to your schedule.

3. Registering with Wait Lists

1. Adding Your Name to a Wait List

  1. When registering for a course that is closed, you may receive this error message: 
    1. CLOSED SECTION: This section is closed, but a wait list is available. Select "Wait Listed" from the Action pull-down menu to the right and click the Submit button to add your name to the wait list.
  2. In the Summary box, use the pull-down menu next to the course to select Wait Listed.
  3. Click Submit. This will add you to the wait list for the course.Wait List Error

2. Moving from the Wait List into the Class

If you received an email notification of an available seat, you must follow these instructions before the deadline has elapsed

  1. Select Register for Classes.
  2. Select the Term.
  3. In the Summary box, use the pull-down menu next to the Wait Listed course to select Registered via Web.
  4. Click Submit.Register for Classes

4. Registration Error Messages

1. Errors with Registration

  1. If you are not permitted to register for a class, an error message will appear at the top of the screen.
  2. The Status of the course will also indicate an error is preventing a registration. Hover over the Status error for more information.Registration ErrorRegistration Status Error
