What is Workday and why is Drake implementing it?
Workday is Drake's new system for Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and related administrative functions. It replaces several existing processes and provides a single modern platform for employee self-service. By 2028, Workday will also replace Banner as the University's Student Information System.
How do I learn to use Workday?
Workday training and step-by-step job aids are available on the Workday Training Hub on the Workday Implementation site (drakeedu.sharepoint.com/sites/Workday). From the home screen, click on Required Training from the top navigation list, and register for or watch recorded training based on your role(s) at the University. Additional help and job aids for specific tasks are available from the How To page of the same site. Click on Support in the top navigation list and select How To for a full list of job aids.
How do I sign in to Workday?
Sign into Workday by first signing into myDrake (my.drake.edu) and clicking on the Sign in to Workday button in the top section.
Where can I get help if something does not look right or I have a question?
If you need help, submit a ticket from the Drake University Service Portal (service.drake.edu). Locate the department related to your issue, select a service from the list of services, and click on the Request Service button. Provide the requested information and click on Submit at the bottom of the form.
What should I check the first time I log into Workday?
Review your personal and contact information, emergency contacts, direct deposit information, tax information, supervisory organization and reporting relationships, and leave balances when available.
What should I do if my manager, department, or organization chart looks wrong?
Report the issue to the Workday support team. Organizational hierarchy corrections can be made as issues are identified.
Why am I getting emails from Workday?
Workday uses notifications to alert employees about required actions and pending approvals. Drake may use daily digest settings to reduce email volume. View the Getting Started for Employees for more information.

Will training recordings remain available?
Training recordings and materials are being distributed through Drake's Workday training resources and implementation sites when available.
How long will the training environment be available?
The training environment was communicated as being available through November. Add a specific retirement date here when it is finalized.
Where can I find job aids and quick-reference guides?
Job aids are published through the Workday implementation and training sites, including training materials, crosswalks, and process guides.
Can I customize my Workday home page?
Users can customize portions of their navigation experience and remove some menu items that are not relevant to them. View the Getting Started for Employees training for more information.
How do I find a task if I do not see it on my home page?
Workday search is powerful and easy to use. Use the Workday search bar to locate available tasks and reports that are not immediately visible on the home page. Try searching on specific terms and consider alternatives to search terms when looking for specific tasks or business processes.
Is there a back button in Workday?
You can typically use your browser's back button to return to the previous page.
