Accessing an Admin Page
There are several ways to access a Page:
- Main Search bar in Application Navigator
- Search icon in Tool Bar
- Recently Opened
- This list is cleared each time you log out of Banner
- Find the Page in a list of pages or in MyBanner
To find pages in a list view or use the MyBanner list:
- Click on the Applications tab in the left side navigation.
- To expand the navigation pane, click on the Menu (three horizontal lines) icon in the upper left.
- Choose either Banner or MyBanner to view your lists.
- Select the page to launch.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Banner uses web standard keyboard shortcuts. Please see Banner Keyboard Shortcuts (FAQ) to learn more.
Parts of a Page
- Tool Bar
- The Tool Bar is always on the left side of the screen and will expand when the hamburger icon (top left icon) is clicked.
- This includes several options such as Return Home, Search, Log Out, Help, and Recently Opened.
- Exit
- Users can exit the page by click on the X in the upper left corner.
- Tabs
- Some Pages have multiple views of data that are separated into Tabs.
- Users can click on each tab to navigate to it.
- Section
- Pages are made up of Sections. Each Page has at least one section.
- In the example below, Enrollment Information is a section
- Fields
- Fields are individual pieces of data in a section. There can be multiple fields to a section.
- In the example below, CRN is a field in the Course Information section.
- Drop Down Menus
- Drop Down Menus contain lookups for pieces of data. Users can click on the ellipsis (...) to open the Menu.
- Help/Error Bubble
- If there is an error on the form, it often appears in the upper right corner.
- You can dismiss the error by clicking on the number in the upper right corner.
- Save
- To Save your changes, click on Save.
- Next Section
- To navigate to the next section, users can click on the icon in the lower left, or simple click into the section.
- Rollback
- On some pages, you can undo your changes by clicking Start Over.
