How to proceed if you forgot your Drake password and have set up recovery options using the Password Manager site. NOTE: If you have not yet set up recovery options, you will need to reset your password by calling the Support Center at 515-271-3001.
Faculty and staff need to be on campus using their Drake-owned computer on a wired (not wireless) network connection to change their password.
1. Go to the Password Manager
1. Visit password.drake.edu
2. Click on the Forgot Password? link.

2. Enter your Drake ID or email address
- Enter your Drake ID number or email address.
- Click Next.

3. Select a verification method
- Using the verification method drop down box, select a verification method you've previously selected: email, text messaging, or security questions. NOTE: If you have not previously set up recovery options, you will need to reset your password by calling the Support Center at 515-271-3001.
- Click Next to continue using the selected verification method.

4. Verify your identity using the selected method
Email address
- Enter the non-Drake email address you've provided. It should match the partially obscured email address.
- Click Send Code.
Once you select Send Code, go to Step 5.

Text message
- Enter the mobile phone number you've provided. It should match the partially obscured phone number.
- Click Send Code.
Once you select Send Code, go to Step 5.

Security questions
- Provide the answers you've previously submitted for the security questions. NOTE: The answers are not case-sensitive.
- Click Next.
Once you click Submit, go to Step 6.

5. Submit Verification Code
- Enter the Code you received either via text message or email. It will be a six digit number. NOTE: The image below shows the screen for text message verification.
- Click Submit.
Once you Submit the verification code, go to Step 6.

6. Change Password
- Change your password by clicking on Change Password. If you need instructions, please reference the Changing Your Password (How-to) guide.
