Blackboard for Students (FAQ)

  • I cannot see my course in Blackboard.
    • Courses remain hidden until the first day of classes or until the instructor makes the course available. It takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours (depending on the time of day of the registration) to be added to a Blackboard course. If the semester has already started and the course is still not visible on Blackboard, please contact your instructor to see whether or not they are using Blackboard for the course.
       
  • I forgot my password.
    • Blackboard uses your Drake password. If you forgot your Drake password, you can reset it using the Password Manager.
       
  • How do I get Respondus Lockdown Browser?
    • Login to Blackboard and click on the Respondus LockDown Browser logo, and follow the on-screen instructions.
       
  • Which browser should I use to access Blackboard?
  • For Windows users, we recommend using either Firefox or Google Chrome. Please avoid using Internet Explorer or Safari for windows.
  • For Mac users, we recommend using either Firefox or Google Chrome. Please avoid using Safari.

  • Can I access my course on my phone or tablet?

  1. From your device, access the appropriate online store.

  1. If necessary, search for Blackboard.
  2. Install the app on your mobile device.
  3. Open the app called Blackboard and search for Drake University.
  4. Log in with your username and password.
