Resetting a Forgotten Password (How-to)

1. Go to the Password Manager

1. Visit password.drake.edu

2. Click Forgot Password?

2. Forgot Password: Step 1

1. Enter your Drake ID number or email address.
2. Click Next.

3. Forgot Password: Step 2

1. Verify your identity using the password recovery option you've previously selected: email, text messaging, or security questions. NOTE: If you have not previously set up recovery options, you will need to reset your password by calling the Support Center at 515-271-3001.

4. Email Verification Option

1. Enter the non-Drake email address you've provided. It should match the partially obscured email address.
2. Click Send Code.

Once you select Send Code, go to Step 8.

5. Text Message Verification Option

1. Enter the mobile phone number you've provided. It should match the partially obscured phone number.
2. Click Send Code.

Once you select Send Code, go to Step 8.

6. Security Questions Verification Option

1. Select Answer security questions as your Verification Method.
2. Click Next.

7. Security Question Answers

1. Provide the answers you've previously submitted for the security questions. NOTE: The answers are not case-sensitive.
2. Click Submit.

Once you click Submit, go to Step 9.

8. Submit Verification Code

1. Enter the Code you received either via text message or email. It will be a six digit number. NOTE: The image below shows the screen for text message verification.
2. Click Submit.

Once you Submit the verification code, go to Step 9.

9. Change Password

1. Change your password by clicking on Change Password. If you need instructions, please reference the Changing Your Password guide.
