Using Miracast on Windows to Connect to a Wireless Display (How-To)

This article describes the steps required to use the built-in Miracast function on Windows-based computers.

NOTE: not all spaces on campus with wireless display capabilities currently support Miracast. If the display you're attempting to connect to doesn't appear in the list of devices, it's likely that Miracast is not yet supported.

How to Connect Wirelessly Using Miracast

  1. Make sure that your computer is turned on and that your Wi-Fi is connected to eduroam.
  2. Press the Windows key + k.
  3. Wait while the computer searches for the wireless display devices, then select the Miracast wireless display device from the search results.
  4. When prompted, input the code displayed on the screen.
  5. To disconnect from the display, press the Windows key + k, then select Disconnect.
