Using AirPlay to Connect to WirelessDisplay on iOS (How-to)

Want to share your iPhone or iPad screen to the WirelessDisplay unit? Here's how. View the video or follow the instructions below.

1. Go to your Device's Control Center

To get to the screen mirroring option, you'll either swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen or swipe down. This will depend on your iOS for your phone or tablet. You'll swipe up on devices running iOS 11 or earlier. If you have a device using iOS 12 or later, you'll swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.

  1. Select the Screen Mirroring option.

2. Select the Screen Mirroring Display

  1. Select the display you wish to broadcast your iOS device to from the provided list. In this example there is only one option—WD-Carnegie009-01.

NOTE: The name for the displays will have the building and room number as in identifier. Additionally, if you have the Sharelink wireless display visible in the room, the name of will appear in the lower left hand portion of the window.

3. Enter AirPlay Password

Once you have selected the display you want to connect to, you will be prompted to enter the current password displayed on the Sharelink screen in order to connect. This code can be found in the lower right hand section on the classroom display. 

  1. Enter the password
  2. Click OK

4. Successful Connection

  1. If you have successfully connected. Your iOS device will now be visible on the classroom display. Additionally, a check mark will appear next to the selected display on your device to let you know which display you are connected to.
  2. When you want to stop sharing your iOS device to the classroom display, repeat the steps to navigate to the screen mirroring and click the Stop Mirroring option.
