Claiming a Self Service Task (How-to)

Self-Service tasks in ProcessMaker allow tasks to be placed in a queue where a group of designated ProcessMaker users can view all of the unclaimed tasks, and those tasks can be claimed by the next user available to complete the task. Self-Service tasks are not assigned to a user and cannot be completed until they are claimed.

View available Self-Service Tasks

1. Click on Tasks tab in the top menu

2. Click on the Self-Service icon in the left side menu

Note: Currently, users cannot open self-service tasks through the Request. Users must open Self-Service tasks from the Self-Service tasks list or through a Task List view on a Dashboard in order to avoid getting a "Not Authorized" error.

Claim a Self-Service Task

1. You MUST claim the task prior to completing the task

  1. Click the "CLAIM" button at the top of the window. If you haven't claimed the task yet, the task contents will be greyed out and unable to be completed. Once the task has been claimed, it is assigned to the user and can be completed normally.
