Logging into Microsoft Teams (How-to)

Online collaboration space with shared file storage is available to campus departments and groups using Microsoft Teams, part of the Microsoft 365 platform. Microsoft Teams is a product that combines tools and resources such as group chat, calendars, and file sharing into one location. Below are the different ways you can access Microsoft Teams.

Teams Desktop App

The Microsoft Teams desktop application is pre-installed on all Drake-owned and personally-owned devices with Microsoft 365 (Office) installed. If you are using a personal device and do not yet have Microsoft 365 installed, it may be installed on your device by following the steps in Available Software Downloads (FAQ).

Windows Computers

  1. Open the Start or Search buttons on the task bar, located at the bottom of the screen.
  2. In the Search text box, type in Microsoft Teams.
  3. Click Microsoft Teams (work or school) to open Teams.
  4. Teams will open and direct you to sign in to your Drake account. Use your Drake email and password to sign in. For more information, see Signing in to Microsoft-connected systems (How-to).

Mac Computers

  1. Locate the Microsoft Teams icon on the dock or in your applications folder, and then click on it to open the application.
  2. Teams will open and direct you to sign in to your Drake account. Use your Drake email and password to sign in. For more information, see Signing in to Microsoft-connected systems (How-to).

  1. Click on the waffle or grid menu in the upper left corner.
