Authenticating an Adobe Named User License for Faculty (How-to)

If you are signing into an Adobe Creative Cloud user license for the first time or simply logging in, the steps are similar. Without authenticating via the correct Adobe account, applications will not launch and you won't be able to install them. These steps describe the process of accessing the correct account.

1. First-Time License Activation

Start from the email you received when a license was added to your account.

  1. If you received an email from Adobe indicating that Drake University has granted you access to all or some applications, you can begin the process by clicking the Get Started button in the email. This step is required if you have not yet set up your account with Adobe. If you already have an active account and know your password, simply log in with those credentials.

  6. If you do not install all applications in one session, it is possible to install applications at any later time. When you install your first Adobe application a Creative Cloud desktop app will also be installed. It will keep your account logged in, allowing you to return to the application and resume the installation process. For additional directions on how this process works, please see the Adobe documentation for Downloading and Installing applications via the Creative Cloud desktop app
